The Story Behind TheRecreations (TheRec)

I'm Arpita, and this journey began somewhere between weekend family hikes and overflowing gear closets in the U.S. We loved how gear could shape experiences. After moving back to India, we couldn't find the kind of gear that inspired us to get outside and stay out — gear that's sustainable, functional, and stylish. So, I decided to build one.

TheRecreations — TheRec for short — is built for people who move. Through cities, hills, forests, and quiet moments.

While one of us still codes, the other (me!) is chasing sunshine and slow mornings to make this dream real.

Equipping everyday adventurers with purposeful gear that protects them outdoors — and protects the planet at the same time.

Every TheRec product is made from recycled materials, designed for Indian climate conditions, and built to last — from mountain trails to city streets.
